Central Connecticut State University is investigating sexual assault allegations

NEW BRITAIN, Connecticut (WTNH) – Central Connecticut State University in New Britain is investigating allegations of sexual assault against a student.

CCSU President Zulma R. Toro asked anyone who might know anything to contact Dr. Craig Wright at her Office for Equity and Inclusion.

Toro released a statement on the school’s social media about his investigation:

Late in the day, allegations emerged about a student accused of sexual assault. As soon as I was made aware of this information, I asked our new Vice President for Equity and Inclusion, Craig Wright, to begin a prompt and thorough investigation. If you have any information or have been personally wronged, please contact Dr. Wright at [email protected], as soon as possible.

Vice President of Student Affairs, Kellie Byrd Danso, is working with her team to ensure appropriate and necessary support is available to all parties involved in this situation.

Make no mistake, Central Connecticut State University has a no-tolerance policy – ​​this university does not and will not tolerate any type of sexual misconduct or bullying. We will do everything in our power to ensure that our campus is a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. We are acting as quickly as possible to ensure this matter is resolved appropriately in accordance with the law and our CCSU policies and procedures.

On Friday, CCSU students organized a rally against sexual violence.

“I just want people to feel able to talk to others about the situation because I know, I’ve been through it myself, and I know what it’s like to feel unable to talk about things,” said Wiktoria Prusaczyk. , a second-year CCSU student.

Students said a video was posted on social media of a CCSU student allegedly abusing another student.
