Focus on Coins in the Early Holders of the September 6 Showcase

Buy the slab, not the piece? Not exactly, but the latest US coin auction in early holders of Heritage auctions focuses on parts that have been encapsulated in PCGS Where NGC holders for a particularly long period. These pieces have a reputation for being often underclassed, and the slabs themselves are popular, hence this offer. Bidding is open now on, continuing with a live session scheduled for Tuesday, September 6 at 6:00 PM CT.

Included are over 700 coin sets in PCGS Green Label holders, PCGS first generation rattlesnake Where “slam“holders, NGC”bold” holders, NGC Green Tag porters, and even a few first ANACS holders. 104 of the pieces received the CAC green label, designating them as among the best in their digital category, and 12 others carry the coveted CAC gold label, which means that CAC believes the coin is underrated by at least one point.

Lot 91286 is already generating a lot of interest, a 1921 half dollar graduated MS65 by PCGS, one of the three major key dates of the Walking Liberty half dollar series. Although a few issues rival this date in Gem-level conditional rarity, MS65 examples from the 1921 are nonetheless exceptionally elusive, and in the many years since this piece was encapsulated in a ‘rattler’ holder of the first generation, only six coins were allocated. numerically finer nuances to PCGS and NGC combined. This example displays a lightly frosted wagon wheel sheen and a hint of light champagne tone. Liberty’s branch hand and eagle’s back leg have minor softness as usual, but the overall visual appeal is excellent.
