This world-class event will bring the best of the automotive world to our famous East Coast city rich in automotive history dating back to the dawn of the automobile age.

This week’s events will be held in some of Newport’s most notable locations; the historic homes of Bellevue Avenue, the International Tennis Hall of Fame, the Audrain Automotive Museum, Fort Adams State Park and other local locations.

The city of Newport has long celebrated the essence of history, luxury and sport, and we are proud to add another chapter to Newport’s book of automotive fascination. Newport’s sporting history dates back to before our country was officially established; the city was a major trading center along with other east coast ports like New York and Charleston, South Carolina. Over the years, Newport has become the epicenter of American sailing, with casuals and competitors tuned in to major events like the America’s Cup held there over time.

Towards the end of the 19th century, the Vanderbilt family made Newport their home. As heir to one of the greatest fortunes in our country’s history, William Kissam Vanderbilt – Willie K for short – had a keen interest in yachting and horse racing, but automobiles caught his eye when ‘they became accessible at the turn of the century. In what is considered the first sanctioned oval track race in our nation’s history, Willie K. raced wealthy friends and other pioneering business leaders at Newport’s Aquidneck Park racetrack, home to now Newport State Airport.

Celebrity seminars and signings will also take place at the International Tennis Hall of Fame, prominent car enthusiasts such as Jay Leno and others will be in attendance.

The week will bring regional and national auto club shows to various Newport locations, and we are delighted to once again host the Class 30 Under 30 Concours; designed for car owners under 30 who built their car with less than $30,000.

Audrain’s Concours d’Elegance to be held on Sunday 2 October will feature some of the best judges from around the world, led by world-renowned concours judge and automotive expert, Donald Osborne. The week will end with the presentation of the Best in Show trophy. This bespoke trophy pays homage to Willie K. Vanderbilt, his 1900 Daimler Phoenix and the origins of Newport’s deep automotive history.

We hope to see you all for another exciting Motor Week in Newport, September 29 – October 2, 2022. To purchase tickets, please visit, www.audrainconcours.com.
