Middletown Military Museum celebrates 20 years with fundraising dinner

The Greater Middletown Military Museum, celebrating 20 years in business, is hosting an anniversary dinner on April 23 at the Sons of Italy in Middletown.

MIDDLETOWN — The Greater Middletown Military Museum will be celebrating 20 years in business at a fundraising dinner later this month.

The first group of individuals involved in the project met in 2002 and the museum was incorporated in 2003, according to a press release. The museum was briefly housed in the mobile classrooms of the senior center in 2006 and 2007.

This is the third anniversary of the facility at its current location at Veterans Park on Walnut Grove Road. The collection has grown, along with recognition across the state, according to the press release. Visitors come from all over Connecticut and out of state.


The celebration will take place on April 23 at 6 p.m. at the Sons of Italy on Court Street, catered by Cantina.

The guest speaker will be Major General Francis Evon, Adjutant General of the State of Connecticut, and Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz is guest.
