BRISTOL – The Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce is hosting a “Members and Prospective Members Open House” event on October 13.
The open house will be held at the Chamber office at The Executive Suites at 440 N. Main St. from 4-6 p.m. The event will allow visitors to meet other Chamber members as well as Chamber Board and staff, learn about the benefits of joining the Chamber and ask questions.
Cindy Bombard, president and CEO of the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce, said the idea of hosting an open house came from Andrew LaForge, director of membership development. Invitations have been extended to all members of the Chamber.
“We thought this would be a great way for some of the new members to meet other members and for existing members to bring in people who might want to join the Chamber,” Bombard said. “It’s a chance for people to see where we are located and for them to meet us and talk about some of the benefits of being part of the Chamber.”
Bombard said the Chamber offers networking get-togethers, opportunities to learn how new legislation affects local businesses, and events to help businesses get exposure in the community.
“Our philosophy is ‘buy local, room first’,” Bombard said. “Our members often recommend each other to other member companies. Our Legislative Committee also keeps our members informed of laws that will impact their business and provides opportunities to get involved. We have an upcoming program on fraud prevention, for which we will bring members of the local police department and a speaker from the FBI Fraud Unit. We also have an upcoming trade show, which gives our members a chance to showcase themselves in front of the public. »
Refreshments will be served and there will be raffles for Chamber members and discounts for future members offered. Visitors are encouraged to bring their business cards for networking.
