About the project

The project consists of the rehabilitation of the two bridges, which span the Pomperaug river. The project includes the rehabilitation of the existing superstructure, including a new asphalt concrete surface and expansion joints, as well as repairs to the concrete structure below. These repairs will extend the life of both structures by approximately 20 years and more. The golf cart trail, which is located under the Heritage Road bridge, will be protected and remain open to golfers for the duration of the project. The final pavement configuration on the rehabilitated bridges will remain the same as the existing one.

Motorists should be aware that changes or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are urged to maintain a safe speed when using a detour route.
